It has a number of features to make sending and receiving faxes take up as little of your time as possible. Outgoing faxes are scanned in fast before they are sent out. They can even be stored in the memory to be sent at a later time. 24 one-touch dials and 100 speed dials save dialling time and Canon?s SURF technology virtually eliminates warm up time.
  
  Fax, Print & Copy
  Whether it is plain text, photos, diagrams or a combination of those, UHQ (Ultra High Quality) scanning technology picks up gradual changes in density of your document. So the receiving end will get exactly what you send them. And when they return a fax, you benefit from laser technology that prints incoming faxes at a 600 dpi resolution. The FAX-L290 is completed with a copy feature which enables you to copy up to 99 pages at high resolution. All these features take up surprisingly little space thanks to the U-paper path, designed so that both paper intake and output are received at the top of the fax machine.
  
  Clean faxes, Clean Hands
  To protect you from missing faxes if it runs out of paper, the FAX-L290 has a large 448-page memory. It keeps incoming faxes stored until the paper tray is refilled. The same goes for the toner.
